Hilariously, a number of books I've read about music between 1975 and 1985 said that punk was lumped into the New Wave movement.
It was kind of a zen moment for me, reading that.

It does, but then it lumps in A Flock of Seagulls with The Sex Pistols, and my mind goes blank.
